Weddings in Mauritius can be an intimate affair with a simple yet beautiful ceremony or a much more extravagant celebration. Our experienced wedding coordinators offer a bespoke wedding service which allows you to personalise your big day in a variety of ways.

Wedding Formalities

Requirements for Civil Marriage:

  • Photocopies of each birth certificate drawn up in English
  • Photocopies of each passport (the 1st three pages only)
  • Any other document relating to divorce, widow/widower or change of name.

    It is advisable to have the application made one month before the date of marriage. Therefore, we suggest having the documents at our office eight weeks before your departure date. The Civil Status Officer, Affidavit and transport into Port Louis is arranged by our wedding advisors.

    Example of a Beach Wedding Itinerary

    • Depart from the hotel to one of the islands beautiful beaches, which will be located approximately 30 minutes away. The wedding location will already be decorated according to the couple's requests.
    • The couple will be greeted personally before a wedding photographer (if booked) takes pictures.
    • The Civil Status Officer welcomes and greets the couples.
    • The ceremony begins: The officer will introduce himself and explain the wedding laws of Mauritius.
    • The couple exchanges vows and entries are recorded in a book.
    • The officer declares the couple husband and wife.
    • After the ceremony which lasts approximately 30 minutes, the officer will be available for photographs.
    • The chef and an assistant will serve drinks and a delicious wedding dinner.
    • The wedding cake and champagne is normally served after dinner, however they can be served following the ceremony if the couple wants to be photographed with them.
    • After the meal the couple will be transferred back to their hotel by car.
